Ginny's Professional Story

Ginny Gonzales is a Certified Public Accountant whose career spans tax, accounting, real estate, and law.  She is a retired IRS Field Auditor.  At IRS, she specialized in developing audit techniques for cash businesses.  Now she now applies what she learned at IRS to help her clients facing IRS audits and appeals. She has held the position of Adjunct Professor of Tax and Accounting at City College of San Francisco and Golden Gate University.  She holds four graduate degrees in accounting, federal tax, governmental accounting, and financial planning.

Ms. Gonzales is a licensed California Realtor (DRE #01348095) affiliated with eXp Realty of Southern California and O'Neal & Associates of Bellflower, California. Her real estate practice complements her financial and tax advisory work, giving clients a single trusted professional for transactions that span both disciplines.

Since 1978, Ms. Gonzales has been a paralegal with extensive experience in corporate, real estate, employment, and tax law. She has worked with lobbyists in Washington, D.C. and Providence, Rhode Island.  She served as paralegal for her late husband, Thomas Gonzales, in his successful 2018 lawsuit against the Long Beach Citizens Police Complaint Commission.

Community & Civic Involvement

A 30-year resident of Long Beach, Ms. Gonzales has demonstrated a sustained commitment to civic life. She served as a Commissioner on the Long Beach City Citizens Advisory Commission on Disabilities and held multiple leadership roles within the Long Beach Chapter of the California League of United Latin American Citizens (California LULAC). She ran for Long Beach City Auditor in 2026, earning 28,000 votes, and previously ran for the Long Beach City Council's 9th District, finishing in second place.

Ms. Gonzales resides in North Long Beach with her daughter Bernice Olivia, her dog Rosie, and her cat George Pedro.
